Our sheep Dotty just gave birth to twin ewe-lambs about 30 minutes ago. After I finished with chores tonight, I thought I’d check the critters outdoors for unusual behavior… and Dotty was acting… well… unusual. Even though she was laying down I noticed her back-end was wet and she was ‘talking’ to her belly. I then called daughter Madison to take a look. “Yep, she’s in labor,” Madison said. OK, time to get Carol. About 5-10 minutes later I got a call. Carol said a female lamb was born and another was on its way. By the time I got there, both were born.

The purple in the photo is an old bath towel Madison used to try to dry the first lamb as the 2nd was being born. Dotty was to busy pushing to tend to her first born. These lambs are ¾ Katahdin hair sheep.
