After a day or so of testing, it appears we have a functioning, auto-refresh webcam on the site. Before yesterday, the cam pic was simply a static image… you had to refresh the page in order to see the most recent image.
Yesterday, I played around with some code and found one I liked. The cam image refreshes itself (or tries to) every 10 sec. If nothing is going on outside, the only thing you may see change is the time-stamp. When the cam is operating correctly, it should show the right time. If you see an image of a goat that says he’ll see you tomorrow or if it appears that the time-stamp doesn’t change, that means the cam is shut-off/offline.
We will try to have the cam running everyday. Some folks like it… some could care less. Once the warmer weather takes hold in our area, there will be more to see. Maybe we’ll run 2 webcams.
Enjoy the cam we have… and if you have a comment, feel free to post it here or on Facebook.
