Frozen Frog Legs

The last few days have been fencing type weather.  Either taking out the temporary fencing of the winter pastures or repairing the lane fencing that was taken out by trees that had fallen, over winter.  It was kind of fun, but then again I like fencing.

While I was putting up some barbed wire for the lane fencing, I noticed what I thought was a blowing leaf on the snow.  I continued to stretch wire and do whatever I needed to do for my fence repair.  My repairs were pretty quick and easy, so I decided to do some more fence work, farther up the lane.  Then I saw it again.  It looked like an orange leaf in the snow.  When I thought about it, it occurred to be that there were no leaves blowing anywhere.  I took a closer look.

As you can see, there is no leaf in the snow.  In fact, it was a little red/orange frog, making it’s way across the snow.  A sure sign of pending spring.
